Curriculum

The basic curriculum of the Sikh denominational school is based on the National Curriculum that all government-funded schools teach in the UK. The curriculum aims to be broad, balanced and relevant to the needs of those living in contemporary society.

The school employs professional teachers based on their teaching abilities and merits. In addition to the National Curriculum there are lessons in Panjabi and Sikh Studies. Being a Sikh denominational school we will take advantage of teaching principles based on the Sikh ethos, religion and customs. This will include personal and social disciplines, traditional South Asian music (Rabab, Tubala, etc.) and Sikh history.

The school intends to educate its students in all other faiths so that they are able to have a fair and balanced understanding of all other societies that they live within and as part of this society respect all for the values and principles that they have to offer to all of us in a truly multi-cultural society.
