Dear Parent/Carer,

Re: Ofsted Inspection October 2011
As you are aware Khalsa Primary School had an Ofsted Inspection last month. We have now received our final report and I am very pleased to inform you that we have achieved overall Grade 1- Outstanding !
The credit goes to our extremely hard working staff, teaching and support staff, our brilliant pupils, very committed and hard-working governors and of course you- our highly supportive parents.
You will see in the report how impressed the inspectors were with our children's excellent behaviour and how well they learn and how the school cares for them and keeps them safe. They are happy to come to school, they like their teachers and they enjoy the work they are given.
I would like to congratulate you all and all the other members of the school community.
Please join me to say a special thank you to your child's teacher and the class teaching assistant for leading your child's' learning so well.
The office staff ensured that the school runs smoothly during the two inspection days, so our thanks to Bobby, Rajneet and Kuldip.
The inspectors were highly impressed with our morning assembly and we would like to say a big thank you to Jatinder Singh and Indermohan Kaur for their work and support.
The kitchen staff made sure that as ever the children ate healthy and tasty food and also the inspectors were well fed, our thanks to Ranjeet and her team.
The caretaker and his team ensured all areas of the school building looked sparkling clean and smart. Nachtar Singh welcomed the inspectors every morning and helped them park their cars. Thanks to Nachtar Singh and Amarjit Singh Boperai and the cleaning staff.
A very big thank to Mr I Kandola, who is a great friend to the school and is always ready to give a helping hand to the staff whenever required.
May I add that the governors in this school are unique. I have been very fortunate for the privilege for working with them. I thank them for their help, support and wise advice in all aspects of school life. I would like to say a big thank you and a special mention to Hardip Singh Sohal (Chair), Narinder Singh Rana (Vice Chair) and Surjit Kaur Sandhu (Chair of pupils learning and progress committee) and their whole team of full governing body. Inspectors were very complimentary about the governors and how they help lead the school so successfully.
May I also thank Mr Nick Kandola, who until December 2010 was the Chair at Khalsa. He has been very excited about such a positive outcome and we thank him for his support, flowers and the lovely card he sent to all staff.
Let's also think about Mr H S Sewak, who once had a dream to open a Sikh school in Slough, which today has become a reality and he can pride himself with the knowledge that he has been instrumental in sowing the seeds of a very successful school.
I would now like to take the opportunity to thank our brilliant, extremely hardworking and an inspiring Deputy Headteacher, Prubjyot Sahota who has been a pillar of strength from the day she came to Khalsa. It would have been impossible to go through the process of the inspection without her by my side. Khalsa is lucky to have a senior leader of her calibre.
Please enjoy reading the report and let your child/children read the letter from the Inspectors.
There are some aspects that the school needs to work on. We were already aware of those as we had put them in our School Evaluation report and we will be drawing up an action plan which will be sent to all parents when it is ready.
May I congratulate you all on the birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and I hope to see you all on Saturday for our Gurpurab celebrations.
